SavvyVan3 has Pundmann Water heater controls built directly into our system, allowing you to have a single panel to control your hot water system.*
We have worked directly with Pundmann to develop our user interface which adds advanced user controls for all our customers.
To connect the Pundmann Water Heater to SavvyVan, we need to use one of the built in switches to trigger an external High Current relay, available here.
Our relays are activated by a 12/24v signal applied across the control spade terminals.
To connect it:
Take a fused feed from your 12v supply and connect to the 'COM' on a SavvyVan switch terminal.
From the 'NO' terminal on the same switch, connect it to either of the spade terminals on the relay.
From the other spade terminal on the relay, connect to ground.
Follow the Pundmann installation guide to install your Water Heater
On the 2 larger nut terminals, place inline on your Positive 12v feed into the Pundmann water heater. (This will allow SavvyVan to control the 12v input)
Connect the smaller black lead from the temperature probe within the Pundmann unit to the °C screw terminals, taking care to connect the correct colour wires:
BLK = Black
YEL = Yellow
RED = Red
To Configure the Pundmann Water Heater, tap Installer Settings > Enter the pass code > Tile Configuration.
Select the switch number you have connected your heater too. Using the drop down select Pundmann Water Heater and tap the settings cog.
Within the settings you have various options:
Enable - This will enable/disable the automation configured in the screen. It is recommended that you diable them when the van isnt in use or the water heater is empty.
Schedule - SavvyVan will automaticlly turn your Pundmann ON at the time/day specified. This works in parellel with the Auto Off delay
Auto Delay Off - When your heater is turned on either manually or via the schedule. It will automaticlly turn off after this set period
Charge Overflow - When your battery charge is more than 95% your heater will turn ON. When your battery drops below 90% it will turn OFF. (Only available if a SavvyShunt is connected)
Auto Off - Turns your water heater off if your battery gets to the selected level.
Pundmann control is available for SavvyVan3 only and is available in software version 2.1 and above. To upgrade your unit please see the instructions here
